Ingredients Required For Pressure Cooking Chickpeas
Kabula Chana/ Chickpeas – 2 cups
Water for Soaking – 2 Cups
Water for Pressure Cooking – 5 Cups
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Ingredients for Masala Powder
Cumin Seeds/Jeera – 1 Tablespoon
Black Pepper – 1 Teaspoon
Black Cardamom – 1 Pod
Clove – 2 pieces
Poppy Seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Dries Red Chillies – 2 pieces
Kasuri Methi – ¼ Teaspoon
Cinnamon Stick – ¼ inch Piece
Dried Coconut – 1 inch 5 Pieces (For Powder) Mostly used In South India
Ingredients For Making Chana Masala Curry
Mustard Seeds – Teaspoon
Jeera/Cumin Seeds – Teaspoon
Termeric Powder – Teaspoon
Tomato – 3
Onion – 2
Ginger – 1 Small Piece
Garlic – 9 to 10 Cloves
Red chilli Powder – ½ tablespoon
Curry leaves
Tamarind puree – 4 tablespoon
Curd/yoghurt – ½ Cup
Oil
Salt as per your Taste
What Is the Method of Boiling Chickpeas?
Take Chickpeas and Rinse and Wash Then Thoroughly
Now, Soak the Chana in 2 Cups of water For 6 – 7 hours or for Overnight.
Drain the excess Water from the Soaked Chickpeas
Add the chana Into A Pressure cooking and Pour 5 cups of Water
Add Turmeric Powder and Salt as Per your Taste and Cook for 4 – 5 Whistles
Note: If you haven’t Soaked Chickpeas for 8 Hours And Want It For Lunch Then add 1 Cup Of Extra Water, and Kindly Boil It For 6 – 7 Whistles.
Now, when the pressure Settles Down, kindly Drain the Excess Water and Take out the Chana from It and Keep It In a Bowl.
Smash The Chana with the Help of a Spoon and Keep it aside.
How To Prepare Chana Masala Powder?
Take A Blending Jar and Add Cumin Seeds, Black Pepper, Clove, Cardamom, Poppy Seeds, Dried Red chillies, Kasuri Methi, Dried Coconut, Cinnamon Stick as Mentioned in the Ingredients.
Blend Into a fine Powder without adding any Water.
Take the in Separate bowl and keep It aside.
How To Prepare Chana Masala Curry?
Put a Pan on Medium Flame and 2 Table Spoon Of Oil or Ghee.
Now, Add Mustard Seeds, Jeera, Curry Leaves, turmeric Powder and Till the Ingredients Crackles.
Add Red chilli Powder and Mix It for 1
Now Add 4 Tablespoon Tamarind Puree
(Made With Soaked Tamarind In Water For 15 minutes and then taking Out the juice by Squeezing it)
Mix Well Till the Aroma Comes Out.
Now Add Tomato Puree, Onion Paste and Ginger Garlic Paste After Blending them Separately
Mix All the Ingredients Well for 2 minutes.
Now Add the Mashed chana Into the Pan.
Add Water and Mix it Well.
Now, Add Salt as per your Taste.
Note: If you want More Gravy For Jeera Rice or Pulav, Then Add More Water.
Now, Add the Chana Masala Powder Which Was Prepared By us,
Mix It Well and Cover the Lid For 10 minutes.
When the Flavour Comes out, Take the Lid and Add Curd Or yoghurt In It.
Turn Off The Stove and Take The Chana Masala Curry Into a Brown and Garnish It With Coriander Leaves.
Your Chana Masala Curry Is Ready!
Serve This Delicious Dish It with Roti, Chapati or Jeera rice.
